The African National Congress Women's League (ANCWL) will be holding a media briefing on the 80th Birthday Celebrations of it's former President, Cde Winnie Madikizela-Mandela. In April 2016 the ANCWL commenced with honoring its heroines by celebrating the life and legacy of its founding President Cde Charlotte Mannya-Maxeke.
This year marks the 60 Years Anniversary of the Women's March and the 98 Years of Women Struggles, the ANCWL has initiated programs aimed at educating society about the role women have played in the liberation struggle and continue to play in building a South Africa that truly belongs to all who live in it. The Winnie Madikizela-Mandela 80th Celebrations is a program to recognize and celebrate role she has played in liberating South Africans, under themes and perspectives of the "98 Years of Women Struggles".
The briefing will be convened by the officials of the ANCWL and will be addressed by the Secretary General of the ANCWL, Comrade Meokgo Matuba.
