ANCWL statement on the Paedophile Pastor and Cannabil Uncle

ANCWL statement on the Paedophile Pastor and Cannabil Uncle

21 April 2017

The African National Congress Women's League (ANCWL) is disturbed by the alleged paedophile actions by Pastor Omotoso. We welcome the swift response by the law enforcement agencies in arresting the Pastor and ensuring that he faces the full might of the law.

The ANCWL pleads with all members of the society to provide necessary support to the victims of these alleged devilish acts by Pastor Omotoso. People attend church to find solace not to be sexually violated. It is alleged that over the years Pastor Omotoso has been luring girls as young as fourteen years under the disguise of being a man of GOD whilst addressing his uncontrollable sexual urge. Society should expose these barbaric acts and support the victims of such actions.

The ANCWL also condemns the killings of two young boys allegedly by their relatives, a four year old killed allegedly by his uncle who cooked and ate him. Brutal murder of children and practises of cannibalism must be rooted out in the communities.

The ANCWL will intensify its " Molo makhelwane" programs to ensure that there is safety nets within communities and there is restoration of the communal life.
