7 August 2017
The African National Congress Women`s League (ANCWL) welcomes the decision by the Speaker of the National Assembly, comrade Baleka Mbete that secret voting will be utilised during the motion of no confidence in the State President Jacob Zuma on the 8th August 2017.
South Africans must be reminded that this frivolous motion by the Democratic Alliance (DA) is not directed at the State President Jacob Zuma. It is an aim is to remove the African National Congress (ANC) from power and to ensure that land ownership and economic freedom for the majority of South Africans are not realised. The frivolous motion from the imperialist rented DA will be defeated.
The ANCWL has full confidence in ANC deployees in the National Assembly. They are tried and tested cadres who are aware of the plans of imperialists who have rented neo-liberal political parties or reactionary civil society organisation to overthrow a democratically elected government. The ANC MP`s are selfless servants who voluntarily joined the struggle to build a united, non -sexist, non-racial and prosperous South Africa. With high levels of humility the ANC tasked by the majority of South Africans, will continue to govern the country. The ANC remains the only hope for South Africans with regards to dealing with the triple challenges of inequality, unemployment and poverty.
As the integral part of the ANC, ANCWL will continue to work with all its supporters, members and members of society in general in ensuring that the ANC remains a people centred organisation.
The ANCWL has confidence that the ANC MP`s will not join in on the agenda of overthrowing the government elected by the people of South Africans.
