The African National Congress Women's League (ANCWL) has noted with disappointment an invitation bearing the face of Cde Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, inviting masses to the 106yrs anniversary of the African National Congress (ANC), in East London- Eastern Cape on the 13th of January 2018.
The ANCWL and Cde Dr Nkosazana does not know the origin of that poster and we distance ourselves from the poster and its content. Invites to ANC events are issued only by the ANC and no any other structure or individuals. For that reason, the invite to the ANC 106yrs anniversary will be issued by the ANC. We call on those who produced such invites without authorisation from the ANC to desist from such divisive acts. The ANCWL as an integral part of the ANC, condemns anyone who publishes and/or distribute any poster or press statement publication on behalf of the ANC without authorisation. Such acts warrants disciplinary action as per Rule 25.17.10 of the ANC Constitution (duly amended and adopted in the 53rd National Conference Mangaung 2012)
The ANCWL members and supporters abides by rules of the ANC as set out in the Constitution. Members and supporters of the ANCWL will at all times defend the unity and integrity of the organisation and its principles and combat any tendency towards disruption and factionalism. The hype towards the 54th ANC national conference will not in any way make members and supporters of the ANCWL and those who are supporting Cde Dr Nkosazana to be the President of the ANC to divide the organisation.
The ANCWL pleads with all its supporters, members and the general membership of the ANC to place their energies and skills in working towards making the ANC an even effective instrument of liberation in the hands of the people. People of South Africa are expecting thr ANC to be more united and effective in addressing inequalities, unemployment and poverty which unfortunately is characterised by race and gender.
Unity within the ANC before, during and after the conference is sacrosanct.
