The African National Congress Women's League (ANCWL) wishes the African National Congress( ANC) happy 106yrs of the selfless struggle in uniting African people and spearheading fundamental political, social and economic change in South Africa.
Despite some of its own weaknesses which it has openly admitted to, the ANC is by far the only hope for South Africans that can create a united, non-racial, non-sexist and democratic society. Whilst the struggle against partriarchy and male chauvinism in politics continues, the ANCWL honours the ANC which is the oldest liberation movement on the African continent as the only organisation by far that has found it fit to redress the imbalances of the past in terms of gender representation in political structures and has adopted a 50/50 % gender parity policy in the organisation.
In celebrating 106yrs of the organisation, it is upon the leadership, members and supporters of the ANC to ensure unity of purpose continues to be a bedrock of the organisation. A divided ANC is not good for the country and the entire continent. The ANCWL as an integral part of the ANC will work with ANC structures to defend unity and integrity of the organisation and making the ANC an even more effective instrument of liberation in the hands of the people. The ANCWL will work with the ANC leadership under President Cde Cyril Ramaphosa and his collective to ensure that all the resolutions adopted in the 54th national conference are implemented without fear nor favour to improves the lives of people and eradicate inequalities, unemployment and poverty in South Africa.
Happy birthday ANC. May you continue to grow in stature, humility and being selfless servant of the masses!!
